1. What this covers
These terms cover this website and the Guardiantus AV software. Using either means you accept them. The software itself is licensed separately under the MIT licence, which governs your rights to use, copy and modify the code.
2. No warranty
Guardiantus AV is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. No antivirus detects everything, and this one makes no claim to. It may miss threats and it may flag safe files. You remain responsible for backups, updates and the security of your systems.
3. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors are not liable for any damages arising from use of the software or this site — including data loss, missed detections, false positives, or interruption of service.
4. Acceptable use
Use Guardiantus AV only on systems you own or are authorised to administer. Do not use it to build, test or refine malware, or to interfere with anyone else's systems.
5. The Threat Lab
The interactive demo runs entirely in your browser. Files you drop into it are read locally and never uploaded, stored or transmitted. Its sample files are inert snippets, not functional malware. Its verdicts are illustrative and are not a substitute for scanning with the installed software.
6. Privacy
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and collects no personal data. Your theme preference is stored in your own browser and never leaves it. The software contains no telemetry; the only outbound requests it makes are ones you configure.
7. Third-party components
Optional dependencies (watchdog, yara-python) and any
package manager Guardiantus drives on your behalf carry their own licences and
terms. Signature feeds you configure are governed by whoever publishes them.
8. Changes
These terms may change. Material changes will be reflected in the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
